Leander ISD is pleased to announce Cynthia Griggs as the new principal of Reed Elementary School.
“Cynthia embodies a genuine commitment to students, staff, and the community she serves,” said Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. “As an instructional leader, she is passionate about ensuring that all students thrive, fostering positive relationships, and empowering her staff to craft exceptional learning experiences. Under her leadership, Reed Elementary will continue its tradition of success and prioritizing an intentional focus on student learning.”
Griggs most recently served as principal of Gattis Elementary School, a dual language campus, in Round Rock ISD. During her tenure, she implemented campus procedures to ensure academic growth for every student, with a focus on meeting each student’s needs throughout the learning cycle. She brings 14 years of experience in elementary education to her new role in LISD.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Reed Elementary community!” Griggs said. “I look forward to continuing the Leader in Me Lighthouse legacy, rooted in student leadership and individual ownership of learning. Go, Roadrunners!”
Griggs earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University, where she also completed a Master of Education degree. Currently she is in the Cooperative Superintendency Program at the University of Texas at Austin, working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy.
