After a successful tenure at Leander Middle School, campus leader Josh Haug will become the new principal of Glenn High School.

“We are pleased to announce Josh Haug as the next principal of Glenn High School,” said Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. “Josh brings 19 years of dedicated service within #1LISD. He is committed to fulfilling the vision of GHS and upholding the values of its namesake, Tom Glenn. With his impressive instructional leadership background, passion for strong school culture and meaningful student connections, we are confident that he will be a visible and impactful presence in the Glenn community.”

Haug comes to Glenn HS from Leander Middle School, where he has served as the principal since 2019. A graduate of Leander ISD, he started his career in this district in 2006 as a teacher at Vista Ridge High School. Stops at Canyon Ridge Middle School and then back to Vista Ridge HS preceded him stepping into campus administration at Wiley Middle School in 2015. Haug also served as both an associate principal and assistant principal in his years at Rouse High School.

“Grizzly Nation, I am excited to join the Glenn High School community and continue to build on the rich culture and ideals of your namesake, Mr. Tom Glenn.,” Haug said. “Together, we will continue the legacy of innovation and Grizzly Grit that makes Glenn High School such a special place.”

Haug earned a bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University.
