Eighth grader Dylan Vigil at Four Points Middle School is the Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
According to FPMS Band Director Jessica Gonzales, Dylan goes above and beyond regularly for the band. He is a section leader and student leader within the FPMS Band and participates in Austin Youth Orchestra, an audition-only group. He also participates in Trombone choir at Vandegrift High School. He is extremely competitive when auditioning for honor ensembles like Region Band.
Gonzales said that Dylan is a model band student.
“Dylan is not only an outstanding musician participating as a section leader in our top ensemble, Region Band and Austin Youth Orchestra, but he is also active in our Band Leadership team,” Gonzales said. “He is also an academically accelerated student, participating in NJHS, Gateway and Spanish, but perhaps most importantly, is an incredibly kind human to all he encounters. I am so proud to nominate Dylan as a student embodiment of all these qualities.”
