Leander ISD is proud to announce Rouse High School senior Brittney Martin as the Student-Athlete of the Week.

Brittney is a three-year letter winner on the Lady Raider basketball team and has been voted as team captain the last two seasons. She is currently averaging 3.9 assists, 2.5 steals, and 4.7 points per game, and she has played an instrumental part in the Lady Raiders advancing to the first round of the playoffs.

“Brittney is consistently encouraging her teammates, she’s full of tenacity and competitive spirit,” Lady Raider Head Coach Lori McDonald said. “She has the biggest heart and is truly a leader on the court and in the classroom.”

In her free time, Brittney volunteers at Open My World, a therapeutic horse center that assists with disabled children and adults. She also volunteers with Leander ISD’s Adaptive Physical Education classes during her off period. In addition, she walks dogs at the Texas Humane Society and works with the Leander Lazer Basketball Team. Brittney is enrolled in all Advanced Placement courses and continues to maintain a competitive GPA while being involved in a variety of activities.

Brittney Martin demonstrates what it means to be an exceptional student-athlete and Leander ISD is honored to name her as student-athlete of the week.
