Leander ISD is proud to announce Leander Middle School theatre standout Sydney Gillen as the LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.Sydney, an 8th-grader, has been an active member of the LMS Theatre program for three years. Her acting resume includes roles as Blackstache in “Peter and the Star Catcher,” Harry Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life” and Ethel Savage in “The Curious Savage’.
Sydney takes multiple pre-AP courses, and is a member of the LMS volleyball and cross country teams. She truly exemplifies the LMS motto, “Enter to Learn. Exit to Lead.”
“Sydney’s contributions to not only the Theatre Arts Department but also the campus are invaluable,” said LMS Theatre Director Dana Thompson. “She is an exemplary student leader and positively impacts every organization in which she is involved. We are beyond grateful for her the impact she has made here at LMS.”
