Leander ISD is excited to introduce Staci Cordell as the new leader of Laura Welch Bush Elementary School.
“Staci Cordell is a leader who consistently brings innovation, collaboration and a deep commitment to student success,” said Leander ISD Superintendent Chris Clark, Ed.D. “She has the ability to build strong relationships and create a culture where both students and staff thrive. We are confident her leadership will continue to elevate excellence and positively impact the entire school community.”
Cordell brings nearly 30 years of experience in education to Bush Elementary, with 20 of those in campus administration. She currently serves as the principal of Faubion Elementary, a campus community she has led for the past five years. At Faubion, she was intentional about creating a culture focused on student leadership and agency, along with strong collaboration with families and staff.
Before that, she devoted 14 years as an assistant principal in Leander, Pflugerville and Coppell ISDs, where she set a solid foundation to support students and empower educators. Cordell began her career in education as a kindergarten teacher.
“I am truly honored and grateful to join the Laura Welch Bush community where strong relationships and a commitment to excellence are already so evident,” Cordell said. “I look forward to listening, learning, and walking alongside students, staff, and families as we build on that foundation and continue creating something exceptional together. Go Stars!”
Cordell attended Angelo State University for her undergraduate degree, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education. She completed a Master of Educational Administration degree at the University of North Texas.
