Cedar Park High School junior Esefani Rios isn’t just writing headlines, she’s making ‘em as Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week!
CPHS school newspaper The Wolfpack‘s editor-in-chief jumped into the role this year and has excelled in managing the other students on staff. She helps keep people on track with their deadlines, creating a story posting schedule and making sure we stick to it. She also manages our @CPHSNews Twitter and Instagram and tries to post multiple times a week to showcase what students are writing about and what is going on at CPHS.
Even from home, Estefani’s “the news never sleeps” attitude motivates her to post articles and keep their social channels active. For the past several weeks, the COVID-19 health crisis has forced school buildings to close.
“Stef is organized and does a great job of keeping everyone on staff, including me, on track with deadlines” CPHS yearbook and newspaper adviser Paige Hert said. “ She has a quiet confidence about her and an easy-going personality, but is also not afraid to call someone out if they aren’t doing what they are supposed to. She is always willing to help a fellow staff member and has a kind demeanor. I’m so glad she is only a junior so I can have her one more year!”
Among her numerous accomplishments, Estefani worked incredibly hard to help our staff earn the six badges we needed to become a School Newspapers Online (SNO) Distinguished Site. She also finds time to write stories, with one of her band articles earning a Best of SNO accolade. Estefani is also on the Tracks Yearbook staff and does a wonderful job managing her time between newspaper and yearbook.
A source of greatness with all the right style, we’re proud to feature Estefani Rios, Leander ISD CTE Student of the Week!
