Let it be known the genius behind a ‘secret’ program Carla George is Leander ISD’s Volunteer of the Week!
Carla gives her time and talent to Vandegrift High School’s Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA). Over the last several years, Carla has helped establish VHS’ teacher appreciation program called “Secret Pals.” The program matches anonymous parents with a teacher to provide personalized recognition and treats throughout the entire year. This excellent staff morale booster has become a prized tradition on campus!
“Carla gives selflessly of her time and resources to support Vandegrift staff and students in a variety of ways,” Vandegrift High School principal Charles Little said. “From the ‘Secret Pal’ program, to mobilizing other parent volunteers during times of need, like the scheduling issues that happened this fall, she uses her social network to tap in to whatever it takes to support the school and our staff.”
