A little fish is making some big waves!  Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week Lauren Cheslock is helping Glenn High School celebrate a first.

In her freshman year, Lauren has made tremendous strides in the Criminal Justice program. The primary coursework starts with the principles of public safety where Lauren has proven to be a student leader.

Lauren participates in SkillsUSA. The competition-based program offers a three-fold approach to career success–technical, personal and workplace skills. Selected as a 2020 SkillsUSA District 10 officer, Lauren became the first freshman in Glenn’s Criminal Justice program to achieve the accomplishment!  During the 2020 SkillsUSA competition, Lauren ranked first place and qualified for state competition in Crime Scene Investigation.

“One of Lauren’s career goals is to join the United States Armed Forces and become a military police officer,” Glenn High School Criminal Justice teacher Bernie Acosta said. “She will own that title.  Lauren’s accomplishments at such an early age is a platform for her peers to emulate.”

Lauren also serves as parliamentarian of the local SkillsUSA chapter.

A giant Grizzly bear hug for Glenn High School freshman Lauren Cheslock, our Leander ISD CTE Student of the Week!
