You can help us out by taking note of the following to ensure we can address your needs in the timeliest manner.

Marching Band Update

The current pandemic has created a situation that makes it difficult for LISD bands to operate in the same manner to which we have become accustomed. All of us in LISD are committed primarily to the safety and wellness of our students above all other considerations. The need for social distancing in both rehearsal and performance settings, as well as the potential for reduced numbers of students allowed in any setting including transportation, has led LISD band directors to make alterations to the participation of marching bands at HS football games. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges on behalf of our incredible band students.

We are in constant contact with the UIL to understand and implement guidelines to keep our students and staff safe. Click here to see the UIL update from today, Tuesday, July 21. We will continue to communicate with our families as more information on adjusted timelines becomes available.

Virtual ‘Launch to Learning’ Webinars

We’ve had great success connecting with our community in our Launch to Learning webinars. Tomorrow, we’ll offer two more:

We will be hosting the Launch to Learning 2020-21 webinars on Zoom and YouTube. During the Virtual Empowered Learning and In-Person Services sessions, we will be opening a ThoughtExchange forum for attendees to submit questions, ideas, and comments before and during the forum. The Zoom platform will offer Spanish translation and Spanish-speaking audiences can ask questions in Spanish on ThoughtExchange. We will offer closed captioning in English on both Zoom and YouTube.
