The Vandegrift Vipers kicked a game-winning field goal to qualify for their first-ever trip to the state championship. In the 6A Division II semifinals against the Katy Tigers Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, the Vipers prevailed 38-35.

Vandegrift HS will face DeSoto in the title game at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

LISD is seeking feedback from our community as the district begins its annual review of hazardous bus routes within 2 miles of a campus. We want to hear from families about concerns on current walking routes to school. The district will use this input in planning our hazardous routes assessments.

Unity Through Diversity: Share Your Voice Through Leander’s MLK Essay Contest

The City of Leander and Leander ISD are partnering to host an essay contest in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Jan. 16 at the second annual MLK Day March and celebration. Students in any LISD school can submit an entry by Jan. 7, demonstrating their research on Dr. King and responding to essay prompts.

Texas First Early High School Completion Program

Texas First Diploma: Fast Track Your Path to Texas Universities

During the 87th Texas Legislature in 2021, Senate Bill 1888 established the Texas First Early High School Completion Program to allow public high school students who demonstrate early readiness for college to graduate early from high school.

The purpose of the Texas First Early High School Completion Program, in conjunction with the Texas First Scholarship Program, is to promote efficiency in the state public education system and incentivize the enrollment of high performing students at eligible institutions within the state of Texas.

#1LISD Staff to Receive Employee Retention Bonus

Employee Retention Bonus

As an expression of gratitude and appreciation, the Leander ISD Board of Trustees approved a retention incentive payment during its Thursday, Dec. 8 meeting. 

Staff employed with the district on November 18, 2022 who meet eligibility criteria will receive $1,000 for full-time and $500 for part-time employees, with the inclusion of crossing guards as part of the latter. Funds will be paid out this month, December 2022.

This retention payment was made possible by Board action in May 2022, when the Board placed parameters of 1) setting a tax rate to initiate a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) of at least 9 pennies and 2) passing that VATRE.

Reminder of Payroll Dates

Some of the district’s paydays will be earlier than normal in December.

  • Monthly early pay date: Friday, Dec. 16
  • Biweekly early pay date: Wednesday, Dec. 21

Direct deposit will settle in your account by midnight on the posted pay dates.

  • Benefit changes made during open enrollment will take effect Jan. 1, 2023

New ITS Ticketing System – Incident IQ – Launched

Incident IQ: One spot for all IT needs, Improved customer experience, Announcement banner for outages

From help desk ticketing and IT asset management and beyond, the Incident IQ (iiQ) platform is revolutionizing how our Information Technology Services team supports Leander ISD!

Benefits of the new tool include providing a comprehensive solution for all IT-related needs and improving the customer experience for students, teachers and staff.

Now live, Incident IQ has been added to LaunchPad and the district website’s Staff page.

New Absence Management System – Red Rover – Coming in January

Red Rover

In an effort to improve efficiencies to our ability to manage absences, and substitutes. Leander ISD is moving to a new absence management System – Red Rover – on Tuesday, Jan. 17. District staff will receive invitations to create a Red Rover account the week prior.

Training materials for teachers, substitutes and staff will be available later in December. Campus substitute specialists and department administrative staff responsible for AESOP and absence management will also receive training on the new tool in December.

More information about the changeover is coming soon.

Los Vipers Vandegrift marcaron un juego ganador para calificar para su primer viaje al campeonato estatal. En las semifinales de la División II 6A contra los Tigers de Katy el sábado 10 de diciembre en el Alamodome en San Antonio, los Vipers prevalecieron 38-35.

Sugerencias para revisión de rutas escolares peligrosas

LISD está buscando las opiniones de nuestra comunidad mientras el distrito comienza la revisión anual de las rutas peligrosas dentro de 2 millas de distancia de las escuelas. Queremos escuchar de nuestras familias si tienen preocupaciones sobre las rutas peatonales hacia las escuelas. Escuela Preparatoria Preuniversitaria

La escuela preparatoria preuniversitaria abrió a inicios de este año escolar como la escuela preparatoria de Leander ISD más nueva y una escuela de opción. Los graduados obtienen su diploma de preparatoria, distinguido con honores, de Leander ISD y un diploma de artes en estudios generales de ACC.

La Ciudad de Leander y Leander ISD están asociándose para hacer un concurso de ensayo en honor al Día de Martin Luther King Jr. el 16 de enero en la segunda marcha anual de MLK y celebración. Pago de retención de talento humano

Employee Retention Bonus

Como expresión de gratitud y aprecio la Junta Directiva de de LISD aprobó un pago de incentivo de retención durante su reunión del 8 de diciembre.

Empleados del distrito que cumplen criterios de elegibilidad y empleados al 18 de  noviembre recibirán $1000 si son tiempo completo o $500 para empleados de medio tiempo, incluyendo a los guardas peatonales como parte de este grupo. Los fondos se pagarán en este mes de diciembre de 2022.

Este pago de retención fue posible por una acción de la Junta Directiva en mayo de 2022, cuando la junta tomó los parámetros de 1) fijar una tasa de impuestos para iniciar la elección de tasa de Impuesto aprobada por el votante VATRE de al menos 9 centavos y 2) pasar el VATRE.

Recordatorio de fechas de nómina

Algunas fechas de pago del distrito serán anticipadas en el mes de diciembre.

El departamento de Tecnología de la Información pasará a un nuevo sistema con su plataforma de tiquetes para soporte técnico e Incidentes IQ, revolucionando así la manera como se apoya a los estudiantes, empleados y personal.

Los beneficios de esta nueva herramienta incluye una solución integral para todas las necesidades relacionadas con Tecnología de la Información, mejorando la experiencia al cliente para nuestros estudiantes, maestros y personal.

Incident IQ será añadido a LaunchPad y a la página web del distrito bajo la sección  Staff.

Nuevo sistemas de manejo de ausencias/permisos – Red Rover – entrará en funcionamiento en enero

En un esfuerzo por mejorar la eficiencia y nuestra habilidad de administrar las ausencias y sustitutos, Leander ISD cambiará el sistema de administración de ausencias y permisos, a la nueva plataforma – Red Rover – y entrará en funcionamiento el martes 17 de enero.

El personal del distrito recibirá invitaciones para crear su nuevo perfil en la plataforma Red Rover una semana antes de que comience a funcionar.

A finales de diciembre se tendrán materiales para maestros, sustitutos y empleados. Los especialistas de sustitutos de las escuelas y el personal administrativo de los departamentos responsables de AESOP y del manejo de ausencias también recibirán un
