Leander ISD is proud to announce Vista Ridge High School freshman wrestler AJ Lofton as the LISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
AJ won the Dallas Jesuit Wrestling Tournament, one of the toughest in the state, dominating his weight class at every opportunity. He fought back after an early round loss at the UIL 6A State Wrestling Meet to earn the bronze medal.
“AJ is a hard-working, likable young student-athlete,” said Vista Ridge Head Wrestling Coach David Burdick. “He’s an excellent leader among his peers and is constantly driving others to perform better.”
In addition to wrestling, AJ has achieved the freshman A and B honor roll for the fall semester.
