Congratulations to LISD Super Kid Kathryn (Kate) Bentley who shows daily the reward in taking risks!
The Bagdad Elementary fifth-grader goes above and beyond, always driven. When she had to miss two days of school, she wondered what the class would be working on. Kate then asked for her teachers to show her the skills she would be missing. Because of her proactivity, she had all of her work done before she left!
Beyond her studies, Kate’s self-awareness allows her to tap into a strong sense of empathy. She selflessly greets and welcomes new students at the ready. Eager to learn about other cultures, Kate embraces trying new cuisines.
“Kate exemplifies all of Leander ISD’s 10 Ethical Principles. She is the kind of student every teacher dreamed of having when they thought of becoming teachers,” Bagdad ES fifth-grade teacher Tammie McLean said.
A big fan of building with Legos and all things Disney, Kate enjoys travel and reading a good book.
