Greatness x 2! Faustina Beltran and Areg Vartanian make up a dynamic duo recognized as Leander ISD Fine Arts Students of the Week!

These high-achieving Rouse High School juniors lead as drum majors in the Rouse Marching Band

A member of AVID and National Honor Society, Faustina ranks among the top of her junior class academically. As an extraordinary oboe player, she made All-State band for two years, serving as a top leader in the marching band this past year. Outside of school, Faustina volunteers in her church choir at St. Mary’s.

“Faustina is one of the hardest-working students I have taught. She is constantly pushing herself to become a better musician, student, and leader. She leads by example and is one of the first to volunteer,” Rouse HS assistant band director Caitlin Wolf said.

Not to be outdone, Areg’s talented musicianship awarded him All-State honors playing trombone. Equally important, Areg serves at maximum capacity in the Honor Band, Rouse Band Leadership Team, Northpoint Church Guest Services Team, Boy Scout Troop 258 Member, Order of the Arrow Chapter Chief, National Youth Leadership Training Staff, Rouse Student Council, Rouse Relaxes Club Vice President, National Spanish Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

“Areg challenges his peers to be their best by setting the standard and pushing to be his best every day. He is always looking to improve and is eager to learn.” Wolf said.
