Made for the stage, Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week Andrea Patriarca is coloring our world with the art of song & dance!

The Vandegrift High School senior sings with the Varsity Mixed Choir (Chorale) and Chamber Choir. Alongside singing, Andrea dances with the Legacies dance team. In a competition of nearly 100 student-singers, Andrea won last spring’s Viper Choir Solo Contest. She placed first chair soprano 1 in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 32 Pre-Area Vocal Auditions. With that distinction, Andrea advanced to all-state auditions. This week, Andrea made Texas All-State Treble Choir!

“I am thankful for the opportunity to take part in such wonderful and competitive programs, which challenge me every day and that are supportive of my education and extracurricular activities as a whole. I would not have been able to achieve my accomplishments without my directors, Mrs. Lyons and Mr. Zook.” -Andrea Patriarca

In addition to choir and dance, Andrea is a member of the Science National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and National Honor Society for her overall academic achievement. In the fall, Andrea served as a service project leader for the Viper Choir. She helped coordinate ways for the choir to virtually engage with the residents at the Longhorn Village Senior Living Community.

“Andrea is an exceptional student—hard-working, self-motivated, leads by example every day. Above all, kind to everyone around her!” Vandegrift HS choir director Michael Zook said. “It is a privilege to have her in the Viper Choir room!”

For using voice and movement with exceptional talent, Bravo LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week Andrea Patriarca!
