Sound the trumpet! Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week Jason Gonzales blares with excellence!

At Four Points Middle School, the eighth-grade student participates in the FPMS Band and Band Buddy program. Through this mentorship, eighth-grade leaders pair up with sixth-grade students. The effort helps build culture and a lineage of excellence from year to year.

As an outstanding musician, Jason placed first overall in the competitive Region 32 Middle School All-Region band contest for the second consecutive year. During his seventh-grade year, he was also a finalist for the junior division of the National Trumpet Concerto Competition. Currently, he’s awaiting results from his submission this year.

Best of all, Jason pours out powerful positivity and encouragement among his peers. He takes great pride in both the musical and cultural excellence of the FPMS band program.

“Jason exemplifies everything that a great fine arts student should be,” FPMS Assistant Director of Bands Adrian Teti said. “A tireless worker and a stunning trumpet player, his leadership elevates everyone around him. Every program would be lucky to have that! Additionally, he is a wonderful student who excels in the classroom, achieving academic excellence in every class throughout the year.”

It is evident Jason has a bright future ahead of him! Raise your horns for Jason Gonzales–#1LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week!
