A well-rounded young lady involved in her school, community, church and band program, Lia Kim has earned the distinction as Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.

A Cedar Park High School drum major, Lia, a senior, auditioned and placed in Region & All-Area Band. Her academic achievements abound: recognized as a member of National Honor Society, a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, an AP Capstone Scholar, and an AP Scholar with Distinction. Lia also volunteers at a Korean language school and at her church as a summer school teacher and a praise team leader.

She is an incredible leader for the CPHS Band program both culturally and logistically. As the first chair flautist, Lia consistently leads her studio in both ensemble and solo competitions. As involved as she is in extracurricular activities, she is equally as focused on academics, currently ranked in the top 10 in her class at Cedar Park.

“Lia defines the core values of the Cedar Park Timberwolf Band,” band director Chris Yee said. “She is an influential leader and team member for her band family and achieves musical excellence at the highest level. In addition, she is an incredible academic and community service leader. She moves and inspires us all!”

Congratulations to Lia Kim, Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week!
