As bright as the instrument she plays, Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week Ella Jones’ exceptional leadership is humming!
Ella attends Vandegrift High School where she leads the Viper Band as a drill instructor. A naturally talented student musician, Ella also works extremely hard. Through much dedication and perseverance, she has grown into one of the most outstanding musicians in the Viper Band. Her infectious positivity influences her peers.
At the same time, Ella successfully maintains a rigorous academic course load. This year, Ella earned first chair flute in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Area competition. She advanced to 6A All-State Band, where she placed among the top band performers from across the state!
“Ella is a hard worker. She achieves on a high level in band and academics,” Viper Band director Mike Howard said. “I nominated Ella based on not only individual success, but her influence on others. She makes others work and achieve at a high level. She demonstrates outstanding leadership through her work ethic, ability level and genuine care for other students’ progress.”
Congratulations to Ella Jones, Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week!
