The Home of the Coyotes has a new leader of the pack. Angela Hodges will become the new principal at Wiley Middle School. Hodges comes to the campus from Steiner Ranch Elementary where she was principal. The Leander ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring at Thursday night’s board meeting.

“I am pleased to announce that Angela Hodges has accepted the position as the new principal for Wiley Middle School,” LISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. said. “Angela is an inclusive leader who values everyone’s voice and will partner with students, staff, parents, and community to create a positive learning environment for all at Wiley MS. Her experience as a principal and her knowledge of instructional practices will build upon the incredible culture already established at Wiley MS. Angela’s ability to build relationships and design systems focused on helping all students achieve their potential makes her the perfect leader for Wiley MS.”

Hodges has led Steiner Ranch Elementary as principal for the last two years. During that time, she contributed to many LISD continuous improvement committees such as Student Learning Objectives, the Diversity & Equity Task Force and Programs for Advancement, Challenge, and Enrichment (PACE). She came to LISD with administrative experience as a principal and assistant principal in Pflugerville ISD where she attended Aspiring Leaders Academy–a 3-month program dedicated to the professional development of campus leaders. Hodges established roots in education as an elementary school teacher, eventually becoming an instructional coach.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join Wiley Middle School,” Hodges said. “I am looking forward to being a part of a community of staff, families and students who are clearly dedicated to an exceptional school experience!”

After graduating from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Hodges went on to complete her master’s in educational leadership at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Hodges will replace Brandon Evans who was named Executive Director of Campus Support last month. Hodges will transition to her new role at Wiley MS once Steiner Ranch Elementary finds a new principal.
