Leander ISD is thrilled to announce Allison Brown as Deer Creek Elementary’s next principal. The Board of Trustees approved her hiring at Thursday’s meeting.
“Allison has proven to be an exceptional instructional leader who empowers teachers to build meaningful learning experiences that reach every student,” said Leander ISD Superintendent Chris Clark, Ed.D. “Her vision for academic excellence, paired with a commitment to continuous growth, makes her the ideal leader to guide the Deer Creek community into its next successful chapter.”
Brown has served as the assistant principal of Deer Creek Elementary since 2022. In this role, she helped strengthen student support systems, focused on building positive relationships and welcoming classrooms, supported teachers through coaching and feedback, and partnered with families to address students’ academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs.
Before moving into campus administration, Brown served for four years as an instructional coach at Deer Creek. She began her career in Leander ISD in 2009 as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher at Naumann Elementary, where she also served as a team leader and mentor to new teachers.
“It is a privilege to continue my journey at Deer Creek Elementary as principal,” Brown said. “This community has become so much more than a school. It is a place where meaningful relationships help every student, staff member and family thrive. I’m looking forward to building on all that makes Deer Creek special and creating even more opportunities for our Colts to grow and succeed together.”
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in applied learning and development. She later earned a Master of Education in educational leadership from Lamar University. Brown also completed the Leander ISD Prospective Principal Program.
