Community members have an opportunity to help shape the future of Leander ISD. The district is seeking 120 volunteers to join our Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee (CFAC), which will help guide facility planning to support the evolving needs of our school district.
The CFAC will study current conditions, assess future needs, and provide informed recommendations to the Board related to facility improvements, new construction and renovations, as well as appropriate ancillary spaces (such as athletic, science, arts and other support areas), technology infrastructure, and safety enhancements needed to achieve district priorities.
We will form six subcommittees to focus on:
- Elementary School
- Middle School
- High School
- Ancillary Services
- Information Technology
- Safety and Security
Each subcommittee will collaborate closely with a district administrator to review data, discuss priorities, and evaluate needs within its focus area. Volunteers should be prepared to actively participate, including attending a required kickoff meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the LEO Conference Center as well as all subcommittee meetings.
The deadline to submit an application for the 2026 CFAC Committee is Wednesday, Jan. 28. As committees are formed, the district will work to balance representation to include all regions of our district. Selections will be made and communicated to applicants by Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Community members who are interested in contributing their time, expertise and perspective are encouraged to apply today and play a role in planning facilities that support students now and into the future.
The culmination of the CFAC planning could include a recommendation for a future bond election package, which will ultimately go to the Board of Trustees for final approval before being presented to voters.
