Rouse HS Holds Ribbon-Cutting For Bond Project Completion
Play ball! ⚾ 🥎
Rouse High School hosted a ribbon-cutting event on Nov. 14 to mark the completion of the installation of artificial turf on the school’s baseball and softball fields. The project was made possible by funds from the 2023 Bond.
An artificial field turf better withstands daily use without as much impact on the playing surface, which translates into increased instruction time on the field. Artificial turf also reduces water consumption and allows student-athletes to practice in various weather conditions without damaging the competition surface.
Artificial turf fields will be installed at four more of the district’s high schools. To help the #1LISD community learn more about these projects and track their progress, the district has created a Bond & Construction Projects webpage. Specific project pages include the overall scope, status, timeline, information about contractors and vendors, and more.
A huge thank you to the #1LISD community for passing the 2023 Bond to make this possible.

🥈 Cedar Parks HS Volleyball Team Earns Silver Medal in State Tournament
The Cedar Park Volleyball team had a fantastic run at the UIL Class 5A Division II State Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 23! The Timberwolves were named silver medalists in their first time back at the state title game since 2016.
“What this team accomplished this season was historic and something that we will never forget,” said Lori Mclaughlin, Cedar Park High School head volleyball coach. “We reached so many milestones and achieved many goals. To have our season end at the State Championship is nothing to hold our heads down about. We are already locked in and eager to grow our game so we can get the opportunity to have another amazing season in 2025!”

🏆 LISD Dance Teams Earn Division 1 Rating in Inaugural Fall Dance Assessment
Leander ISD’s dance teams performed exceptionally well in the inaugural Texas Dance Educators Association Fall Dance Assessment, held on Nov. 13 at LISD’s Gupton Stadium.
The district’s six dance teams earned a Division 1, the highest possible rating.
“This event provides our students with invaluable opportunities for growth and feedback as they showcase their dedication and talent,” Megan Liles, LISD director of visual and performing arts, said. “I am incredibly proud of the effort our students and directors put into this process and their exceptional work in earning Division I ratings.”
The Fall Dance Assessment is a pilot program geared toward developing a State assessment model that will be proposed to the UIL in June 2025.
“Empowering Parents” Engagement Opportunities Underway Across Leander ISD
Leander ISD hosted two “Empowering Parents: Safety, Security, Health & Wellness” sessions at Danielson Middle School and Vandegrift High School on Nov. 18 and Nov. 20, respectively.
Attendees got to hear directly from district leaders on key issues regarding safety, security, health, and wellness, as well as receive an update on the formation of the district’s new police department.
At the end of the session, community members got to share their thoughts and insight by participating in a live, open ThoughtExchange.
LISD encourages all community members to attend the final session of this series on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Support Services Building in Cedar Park for an opportunity to contribute to these important discussions as the district works towards enhancing safety and support for its students and families. Your voice matters in shaping the future of our community’s safety initiatives!
Early College HS Opens Application for 2025-26 School Year
Do you have an 8th-grade student who would benefit from obtaining their high school diploma while also earning an associate degree tuition-free? Leander ISD’s Early College High School makes this possible through the district’s partnership with Austin Community College at the San Gabriel Campus!
ECHS combines high expectations, academic rigor through inquiry-based instruction, and individualized student supports to prepare our scholars for academic success.
LISD ECHS is now accepting applications for its fourth cohort, which will then be selected through a blind lottery process later in the spring for incoming 2025–26 9th-graders. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 14, 2025.

LEEF Hosts State of the District Event For West Austin Chamber
LEEF hosted a State of the District Event for the West Austin Chamber at Vandegrift High School on Nov. 21. Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D., students, and staff had a wonderful time sharing stories of excellence, collaboration, and innovation with those in attendance.

Donate to LEEF’s Wrinkle in Time Gala Auction
Do you have a vacation home you can spare for a week? Or a unique item or experience you could donate to LEEF?
While you might not be able to give hundreds of dollars directly to LEEF to support students and staff, an auction item can raise hundreds—or even thousands—of dollars to fund educator grants, mental health initiatives, student innovation, and more.

There’s Still Time: Apply Now for an Empowerment Fund Grant
There’s still time to apply for an Empowerment Fund grant!
Empowerment Fund grants are designed to meet one-time needs and act as a catalyst for transformation. The goal of the Empowerment Fund is to provide funding essential for educators to be able to implement deeper learning and improve ownership of learning for staff and students throughout LISD and accelerate movement to becoming a place where we help all learners prepare themselves for anything.
We encourage LISD employees – teachers and staff – to submit grant applications to obtain funding for resources, training or tools that YOU believe will improve the educational experiences or opportunities for Leander ISD students and/or staff.
Grant application will close on March 24, 2025 and all applicants will be notified on the status of their application by May 9, 2025.

Rouse HS celebra el corte de cinta por la finalización del proyecto de bonos
¡A jugar a la pelota!⚾ 🥎
La Escuela Preparatoria Rouse organizó un evento de corte de cinta el 14 de noviembre para marcar la finalización de la instalación de césped artificial en los campos de béisbol y sóftbol de la escuela. El proyecto fue posible gracias a los fondos del Bono 2023.
Un campo de césped artificial soporta mejor el uso diario sin tanto impacto en la superficie de juego, lo que se traduce en un mayor tiempo de instrucción en el campo. El césped artificial también reduce el consumo de agua y permite a los estudiantes-atletas practicar en diversas condiciones meteorológicas sin dañar la superficie de competición.
Los campos de césped artificial se instalarán en otras cuatro escuelas preparatorias del distrito: Cedar Park HS, Leander HS, Vandegrift HS, y Vista Ridge HS. Para ayudar a la comunidad #1LISD aprender más acerca de estos proyectos y el seguimiento de su progreso, el distrito ha creado una página de Bonos y Proyectos de Construcción. Las páginas de proyectos específicos incluyen información sobre el alcance general, estado, plazos, información sobre contratistas y proveedores, y mucho más.

🥈 El equipo de vóleibol de Cedar Parks HS obtiene la medalla de plata en el Torneo Estatal
El equipo de voleibol de Cedar Park tuvo una carrera fantástica en el Torneo Estatal de Voleibol UIL Clase 5A División II el sábado 23 de noviembre.
Los Timberwolves fueron nombrados medallistas de plata en su primera vez de vuelta en el juego por el título estatal desde 2016.
«Lo que este equipo logró esta temporada fue histórico y algo que nunca olvidaremos”, dijo Lori Mclaughlin, entrenadora de vóleibol de Cedar Park High School. “Alcanzamos muchos hitos y logramos muchas metas. Para que nuestra temporada terminara en el Campeonato Estatal no es nada para agachar la cabeza. Ya estamos concentrados y ansiosos por hacer crecer nuestro juego para tener la oportunidad de tener otra temporada increíble en 2025.»

🏆 Los equipos de danza de LISD obtienen la calificación de División 1 en la evaluación inaugural de danza de otoño
Los equipos de danza de Leander ISD se desempeñaron excepcionalmente bien en la Evaluación de Danza de Otoño de la Asociación de Educadores de Danza de Texas, celebrada el 13 de noviembre en el Estadio Gupton de LISD.
Los seis equipos de danza del distrito obtuvieron una División 1, la calificación más alta posible.
«Este evento proporciona a nuestros estudiantes oportunidades invaluables para el crecimiento y la retroalimentación, ya que muestran su dedicación y talento», dijo Megan Liles, directora de Bellas Artes de LISD. «Estoy increíblemente orgullosa del esfuerzo que nuestros estudiantes y directores ponen en este proceso y de su excepcional trabajo para obtener las calificaciones de la División I».
La evaluación de danza de otoño es un programa piloto orientado hacia el desarrollo de un modelo de evaluación estatal que se propondrá a la UIL en junio de 2025.
Oportunidades de participación « Empoderamiento Parental » en marcha en todo Leander ISD
Leander ISD organizó dos sesiones « Empoderamiento de los Padres: Seguridad, Salud y Bienestar» sesiones en la Escuela Secundaria Danielson y Vandegrift HS el 18 de noviembre y 20 de noviembre, respectivamente.
Los asistentes pudieron escuchar directamente de los líderes del distrito sobre temas clave relacionados con la seguridad, la seguridad, la salud y el bienestar, así como recibir una actualización sobre la formación del nuevo departamento de policía del distrito.
Al final de la sesión, los miembros de la comunidad pudieron compartir sus pensamientos y puntos de vista participando en un intercambio de ideas abierto y en directo.

Early College HS abre solicitudes para el año escolar 2025-26
¿Tiene usted un estudiante de 8º grado que se beneficiaría de la obtención de su diploma de escuela preparatoria, mientras que también obtiene un título de asociado libre de matrícula? La escuela preparatoria Early College de Leander ISD hace esto posible a través de la asociación del distrito con Austin Community College en el campus de San Gabriel.
ECHS combina altas expectativas, rigor académico a través de la instrucción basada en la investigación, y el apoyo individualizado a los estudiantes para preparar a nuestros estudiantes para el éxito académico.
LISD ECHS está aceptando solicitudes para su cuarta cohorte, que luego serán seleccionados a través de un proceso de lotería más tarde en la primavera para los estudiantes entrantes 2025-26 de 9 º grado. La fecha límite para aplicar es el viernes, 14 de marzo de 2025.

¿Tiene una casa de vacaciones de la que pueda prescindir una semana? ¿O un artículo o experiencia única que pueda donar al LEEF?
Si bien es posible que no pueda donar cientos de dólares directamente al LEEF para apoyar a los estudiantes y al personal, un artículo de subasta puede recaudar cientos -o incluso miles- de dólares para financiar becas para educadores, iniciativas de salud mental, innovación estudiantil y mucho más.

Las subvenciones del Fondo de Capacitación están diseñadas para satisfacer necesidades únicas y actuar como catalizador para la transformación. El objetivo del Fondo de Capacitación es proporcionar financiación esencial para que los educadores puedan implementar un aprendizaje más profundo y mejorar la propiedad del aprendizaje para el personal y los estudiantes en todo LISD y acelerar el movimiento para convertirse en un lugar donde ayudamos a todos los estudiantes a prepararse para cualquier cosa.
Animamos a los empleados de LISD – maestros y personal – a presentar solicitudes de subvención para obtener financiación para recursos, formación o herramientas que USTED crea que mejorarán las experiencias u oportunidades educativas de los estudiantes y/o personal de Leander ISD.
