During the month of March, #1LISD is celebrating National Athletic Training Month. In an effort to recognize the essential role athletic trainers provide, we are highlighting the excellence of one student-athletic trainer from each high school.

Morgan Garrett, CPHS senior

Leander ISD Student-Athlete Trainer of the Week Morgan Garrett’s care and positivity shine through all the various roles she serves at Cedar Park High School!

The senior has supported the football and baseball programs for 4 years. Not only involved in Sports Medicine, Morgan is highly active in her church. She serves as Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) president. Even while maintaining a babysitting job, she participates in Student Council as well as the Robotics Club.

“Morgan has a take-charge attitude that does not go unnoticed in the athletic training room,” Cedar Park High School Athletic Trainer Stefany Austin said. “She consistently is willing to help out and lead the underclassmen. Effortlessly, she makes sure they are doing what they are supposed to. Coaches for the sports she works know that she is one that can be relied on. Ultimately, Morgan can handle anything that comes her way.”

Rouse High School

For her passion for helping others, we’re proud to recognize Emily Ross Stokes as Leander ISD Student-Athlete Trainer of the Week.

At the ready, Emily takes care of volleyball and girls basketball. In fact, the Rouse High School sophomore is rising as a leader just as quickly as she learned the ropes! Even as an underclassman, she made oversight and accountability look easy by becoming the Varsity Volleyball student athletic trainer.

“Emily fully commits to the success of Rouse Athletics–not just the sports she is assigned–which is great to see in a student!” Rouse High School Athletic Trainer, Miranda Gafford said. “I consistently get compliments from coaches, players, athletic trainers from other schools. They comment on the good job Emily does with the teams and the joy she is to work with. She is very organized, and the first to volunteer when help is needed.”
