Vandegrift High School senior Jonathan Roth has been named Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week. Roth is a varsity football team captain and four-year participant in the Vandegrift Viper football program.
In the recent game against Odessa Permian, Roth racked up 10 solo tackles, nine assisted tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one pass break up.
“Roth does a great job of balancing academics and athletics,” Head Football Coach Drew Sanders said. “He’s as reliable as it gets and makes the Vandegrift name proud daily.”
When not on the field, Roth serves in the National Honor Society and the Young Men’s Service League.
