Seventh grader Nelson Phan from Cedar Park Middle school is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Nelson is a member of the Leopard football team and plans on playing soccer this year.
“Nelson works hard, is respectful, and is coachable,” Cedar Park Middle School’s Boys Athletic Coordinator Tom Garza said. “He was recently moved to two new positions and to a new team, and had an immediate impact.”
In addition to participating in athletics, Nelson is also an A Honor Roll student and a leader in the seventh grade band at CPHS, where he plays the clarinet. According to Band Director Britni Hummel, Nelson is “a great kid” and one of the band’s top seventh grade performers.
