She’s on fire! Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week Haley Garcia is blazing with the right stuff!

The Danielson Middle School eighth-grader made the Bearkat Volleyball team and also plans on playing basketball. Haley doesn’t just play sports, she coaches, too. She joined her dad in the dugout as a coach of a 10U baseball team.  She also shines as a member of the Illusions Gold National-Whitten Select Softball Team.

In the classroom, Haley participates in the college readiness program AVID and made the A/B honor roll for the first six weeks of this school year.

“Haley is one of the hardest workers I’ve seen as a coach,” Danielson Middle School volleyball coach Emily Scott said. “One word that everyone uses to describe her is ‘hustle’. Haley, or ‘Fuego’, is extremely driven and has the willingness to do what it takes to make her whole team better.”

Coach Scott calls her encouraging, relentless, and incredibly coachable. Haley leads by example and pushes those around her to succeed in all areas.

Sparks are flying ‘cause we’re on fire for LISD Student-Athlete of the Week Haley “Fuego” Garcia. Congratulations!
