Leander ISD is proud to announce Synclair Larson, a senior from Vandegrift High School, as the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.

Synclair is a four-year varsity tennis team member and has served as Team Captain for the past two years. Her success this season has earned her and her doubles partner, Anisha Apte, a spot in the UIL Tennis State Tournament this weekend.

Off the tennis court, Synclair volunteers her time at Mobile Loaves and Fishes, the Lake Travis Youth Association and Glimmer of Hope, an organization that supports programs helping youth and the elderly in East and South Austin.

Synclair’s hard work in the classroom has earned her a place on the Academic All-State Team. She will be graduating with honors this year, and moving on to play Division I tennis at Northern Colorado University.

“Synclair is a hard worker and a natural servant leader for our team,” Vandegrift Head Tennis Coach Daniel White said. “Her teammates look up to her for guidance on and off the court.”

Leander ISD is proud to name Synclair Larson as the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
