Leander ISD is proud to announce Wiley Middle School’s Sam Steere LISD Student-Athlete of the Week! Sam is an 8th grader on the Coyote football, basketball and track teams. He was an integral part of the WMS District Champion football team both offensively and defensively. Sam not only holds himself to high standards in athletics, but also in the classroom, which has resulted in him making the A/B Honor Roll for the first and second weeks of school.
“When we put Sam in the game we always know that he is going to do everything in his power to help the team be successful,” WMS Boys Coordinator Casey Shrader said. “Sam is willing to do the ‘tough’ things in practice and games that not all athletes are willing to do. Sam is a very selfless player, and always puts the team above individual accolades.”
