The Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week is Keegan Nichols, a senior from Cedar Park High School. Keegan is a member of the Timberwolf varsity football and track teams. Keegan was voted football team captain this year, and he is seen as a leader among his peers.

Keegan excels in the classroom as well, maintaining membership in National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and English National Honor Society, all while maintaining a 4.7 GPA. His hard work in the classroom has earned him a 2nd Team Academic All-State distinction.

Keegan was named the Defensive MVP for District 19-5A and 1st Team All-District as a junior.

“Keegan is exactly what you want in the sense of a student-athlete,”Cedar Park High School Head Football Coach Carl Abseck said. “He excels both on the field and in the classroom. He is a leader for our team and sets the standard very high for work ethic. It is little wonder that he was voted as a team captain for his senior year”.

Keegan Nichols truly exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional student-athlete, and Leander ISD is proud to name him as the Student-Athlete of the Week.
