Teacher Teagan Kafer at Vandegrift High School is the Leander ISD Staff Spotlight of the Week.
Kafer teaches IB Psychology and World History. Vandegrift parent Gina C. visited Kafer’s classroom during Vandegrift’s Open House event, and Kafer knew what class period her son was in and even where he sat. Gina C. was impressed by how interested and invested in Kafer is in her students.
“Kafer has a great learning environment in her classroom, including a wall of ‘inspirational failures’ depicting famous people who gained success and achieved excellence even after setbacks, rejection and failures,” Gina C. said.
Just inside Kafer’s classroom door, she has a sign that reads, “Work hard and be nice” – which is, Gina C. said, a great call to action and daily operation for teenagers and adults alike.
