#1LISD families: Leander ISD is offering free group therapy to support students transitioning into middle or high school this fall.

The sessions, hosted by Leander ISD’s Student Family Support Team, will provide a structured, supportive environment where students can learn about the academic, social, and emotional changes that come with entering middle or high school.

Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and skill-building exercises, participants will develop greater confidence, self-awareness, and resilience.

These therapist-led psychoeducational groups are designed to support students as they prepare for middle school or high school. A psychoeducational group helps students understand their emotions, learn and practice skills, and navigate peer interactions in a supportive, structured setting.

Through age-appropriate activities and discussions, students learn tools for managing emotions and social challenges using therapeutic approaches. The goal is to strengthen emotional regulation, confidence, and problem-solving skills in everyday life.

These groups will take place over the course of 4 consecutive days. Each session will be one hour long. Options include Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23 or Monday July 27th through Thursday July 30th. Because these are closed groups, consistent attendance at all sessions is essential.
