Leander ISD honors our dedicated school nursing team during School Nurse Appreciation Week from May 4-8.

The impact of school nurses is felt every day. From treating injuries and managing chronic conditions to supporting students’ mental health and promoting healthy habits, our school nurses do it all.

“Our school nurses are the quiet strength behind healthy, safe, and successful students.,” said Cristin Wicketts, Leander ISD director of health services. “Every day, they care for students with compassion, professional clinical skills, and calm confidence; often in moments that many never witness.”

Thanks to the care and compassion of our school nurses, our district remains strong and healthy.

“During School Nurse Appreciation Week, I am proud to recognize our incredible LISD nurses for the difference they make for students, families, and staff across our district,” Wicketts said. “Their work matters, their impact is real, and not only are our campuses better because of them, our LISD community as a whole is stronger because of them.”

“Thank you for all you do, from your biggest fan!” — Wicketts
