The Leander ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Shanita Kozlowski as the new principal of Naumann Elementary School on Thursday at the Dec. 12 Board meeting.
“I am excited to welcome Shanita Kozlowski as the principal for Naumann Elementary,” said Leander ISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. “Her instructional knowledge and coaching experience will only enhance the great things that are happening at Naumann. Beyond this, her passion for working with staff and parents to inspire each and every student will serve the Naumann community well.”
Kozlowski comes to Naumann Elementary School from Round Rock ISD’s Caldwell Heights Elementary School, where she has served as assistant principal since 2018. Prior to that, Kozlowski was an assistant principal at Union Hill Elementary School, also in RRISD, from 2015–2018. She began her career in education in 1999 as a teacher at Red Rock Elementary School in Bastrop ISD, later teaching at RRISD’s Cedar Creek, Wells Branch and Blackland Prairie elementary schools. From 2010–2015, Kozlowski served RRISD as a district instructional coach.
“I am incredibly honored to join the Naumann family,” Kozlowski said. “I am excited for the opportunity to partner with a community that is committed to the success of all students. I am eager to begin working with this amazing team of staff and students.”
Kozlowski earned a bachelor’s degree in applied learning and development at the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in postsecondary and adult education from Capella University.
