Submissions are now being accepted for school name nominations for Leander ISD’s 27th elementary school, opening in the fall of 2019, and the district’s 9th middle school, opening in the fall of 2020. The nomination process is open to everyone.
Elementary School 27 will be located in the Larkspur subdivision, in the northernmost portion of Leander ISD. The LISD Board of Trustees voted to approve Scenario B for the 2019-2020 elementary attendance boundaries during the March 22, 2018 Board meeting. Middle School 9 will be located across from Glenn High School. The Board will begin reviewing possible zoning scenarios in the next three to six months.
New schools and facilities will be named by a vote of the Board of Trustees, which will consider namesake nominations from community members and district employees. After the vote, the names will be publicly announced.
The deadline to submit a school name is Wednesday, Nov. 14.
