Leander ISD invites our community to support our students and teachers by volunteering on a district-wide or campus-based committee.

To apply for one of our district advisory committees; the Community-Based Accountability System Committee (CBAS), Community Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC), District-wide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC), or School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC), please complete the application here by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug 18.  To apply for the Site-Based Planning Committee, please contact the school your child attends.* 

Community-Based Accountability System Committee (CBAS)

Empowers students, parents, educators and community members to build a learning community that honors and supports the overall Leander ISD Strategic Plan. It empowers Leander ISD to design our own internal system of assessment and accountability, built on the hopes and dreams shared by our community, that meets general state standards, but also allows us to innovate and customize system processes to meet the needs and interests of the district and campus communities.

CBAS Meeting information:
In-person or Zoom 
4-6 meetings per year on Tuesdays from 4:45 – 6 p.m.
(Time and mode of meeting may change dependent on committee feedback)

Community Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC)

Group of parents, teachers, principals, students, business and community members who gather with the primary function to advise on the written, taught, and tested curriculum, related instructional resources, and potential new programs and courses.

District-wide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC)

Group of parents, business and community members, teachers, principals, and other district staff who serve as an advisory council for the Board in establishing and reviewing the District’s educational goals and objectives. DWEIC also reviews major district-wide classroom instructional programs and advises on district-wide staff development.

School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)

Group of school personnel, community members and parents that recommend a coordinated health program for elementary and middle school students. Leander ISD is committed to having a safe and healthy environment for students, families and staff. By addressing nutrition, physical activity, health education and substance abuse prevention in a variety of ways and to a variety of audiences, we hope to raise the awareness levels and the skills for all to live a healthy life.

4 meetings per year on Mondays from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
