The Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Banquet Tuesday, April 18, featured more than 70 Leander ISD students honoring the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic career.

In its eighth year, LEEF has recognized and honored more than 315 Leander ISD teachers and staff across the entire district.

In total, five seniors from each of LISD’s six high schools, a selection of seniors from New Hope HS and SELF 18+ Transition Services, one 8th-grader from each of the nine middle schools and one 5th-grader from each of the 29 elementary schools choose an LISD teacher or staff member who has made a lasting impact.

The seniors took the stage to brag about their teacher and the ways they have been mentored and challenged. What an amazing experience to see the difference just one teacher can make in inspiring their students to do great things.

The student and teacher honorees received a framed certificate to commemorate the evening. Check out the LEEF Facebook page for photos from the event.
