Sophomore Emma Faria from Glenn High School is Leander ISD’s Fine Arts Student of the Week.
In addition to taking art courses, Emma is the treasurer of the Art Club, a founding member of the National Art Honor Society, is in advanced academic classes, and participates in graphic design and the Texas Art Education Associations Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE).
Visual Arts Teacher Lindsay Metcalf said that Emma is a fantastic example of a student who is both academic and creatively inclined.
“She works hard through advanced coursework, graphic design and studio art, and finds time to be an Art Club officer,” Metcalf said. “She does all of this with a great attitude and kindness to those around her. We love having Emma at GHS.”
