Leander ISD is proud to announce our six high school bands as the LISD Fine Arts Students of the Week. Each band recorded an outstanding finish to their respective fall competition seasons.

Cedar Park, Rouse and Glenn high schools competed at the UIL 5A Marching Band competition in San Antonio. Out of 254 bands across the state that began the competition, Cedar Park was named the very best, with Rouse nabbing its highest finish ever (4th) and Glenn making its first trip to State in only its fourth year.

“We are extremely proud of at the outstanding performances of all three LISD bands at the UIL State competition,” LISD Fine Arts Director Peter Warshaw said. “Cedar Park winning a third straight state crown is remarkable. To have Rouse join them as top four in the state and Glenn to make the state competition in only its fourth year is a testament to the hard work of our students, directors and families. Their drive for excellence is a tribute to the support of our community and reflective of the culture of continuous improvement that infuses everything we do in Leander ISD.”

The district’s class 6A bands, Vandegrift (2nd), Vista Ridge (3rd) and Leander (4th), each finished in the Top 5 at the Bands of America Super Regional in San Antonio.

Congratulations to the hard-working students, directors and families.
