Singing. Dancing. Playing an instrument. There you have it! Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week Maritza Tomlinson exemplifies a trifecta of Fine Arts!

At Four Points Middle School, the eighth-grader illustrates what it means to be a performer. Maritza serves as a leader in band and the Majestics dance team. In addition, she participated in the school musical. Academically, Maritza earned recognition as a member of the National Junior Honor Society.

“Maritza embodies the definition of a student leader and dedicated musician,” Falcon Band Director Jessica Gonzales said. “Her skills as an oboe player have earned her accolades as a Region Band and Region Orchestra musician. Not only skilled with an oboe, she is also featured as the English Horn player. Beyond band, Maritza studies piano and voice. Her skills in dance led to performing as a member of the award-winning Four Points Majestics. She also played the lead in the school musical.”
