Leander ISD is proud to recognize Henry Middle School’s Kaitlin Marks as the LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
Kaitlin, an eighth-grader at HMS, serves as Captain of the Black Diamonds Dance Team and is a shining example of hard work and dedication to everyone around her.
Kaitlin was awarded first place in the Public Middle School category for her dance solo at the Stacy Kaye Danielson Solo & Ensemble Championship this year at Cedar Park High School. Along with other members of her officer line, Kaitlin led the Black Diamonds Contest Company to the Public Middle School Grand Champion title at the Vista Ridge Dance Championship in February – the biggest team win in HMS history.
“I could not be more proud of Kaitlin and her leadership as our Captain this year,” HMS Dance Director Jaime Herrera said. “I can’t imagine not working with her every day. She is dependable, trustworthy, responsible, and most importantly, she is a team player first and foremost.”
