Leander ISD is proud to support the next generation of armed services standouts. The district’s NJROTC program is full of exceptional students willing to lead.

Throughout the 2018–19 school year, LISD-sponsored Air Force and Navy ROTC programs have garnered multiple distinctions, including the Silver Star Community Service with Excellence Award and the Distinguished Unit Award. These recognitions are presented only to programs ranked among the nation’s elite.

ROTC cadets also received many scholarships to advance their college and military careers. Junior Colton Pratt and sophomore Austin Heberling have been selected to earn their private pilot License this summer, while sophomore Reagan Komendera earned a scholarship to attend a youth leadership conference at Texas A&M University. Senior Rebekah Hui earned a four-year, full scholarship to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, valued at over $250K.

Senior Aerial Jessie earned an appointment to attend the Air Force Academy, while 13 of LISD’s cadets will enlist and pursue officer positions.

Congratulations to our students in the NJROTC Program!
