Corbin Durbin proves what makes our Career and Technical Education programs so successful. That’s why he’s this week’s Leander ISD CTE Student of the Week!

The senior at Rouse High School has participated in the hospitality program for three years. What a phenomenal addition he is! Corbyn has received several certifications including ServSafe Manager, TABC, American Hotel Lodging Educational Institute Year 1, Career Safe, and ServSafe Food Handler. Competitively, Corbin has made Rouse proud through FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America). In the competition, he placed first at Regionals and third at State for his hospitality and tourism project.

With Corbin, there’s always one more thing to add to his accomplishments. Through the hospitality program, students had the chance to take a field trip to local hotels. During that trip, Corbyn secured a job at downtown Austin’s premiere Fairmont Hotel. Only after a few short months on the job, he was recognized as Employee of the Month!

“Corbyn is a true hospitality professional at heart,” Rouse HS Family & Consumer Sciences teacher Jodi Garner said. “He lives the service motto in everything he does and everywhere he goes. I am proud of Corbyn and all that he has accomplished these past three years. I look forward to seeing what he will accomplish after graduation!”

How could we not offer the same distinction? A five-star rating for #1LISD CTE Student of the Week Corbyn Durbin!
