Junior Eunchae “Lina” Kang at Vista Ridge High School is the Leander ISD Career and Technical Education Student of the Week.
Lina is a student in the Biomedical Sciences program of study at Vista Ridge. She serves as president of HOSA (Future Health Professionals Organization), and in this role works to plan meetings, arrange speakers and coordinate volunteer opportunities for club members.
Lina has advanced to Internationals in HOSA for Extemporaneous Writing the past two years. She is currently taking Medical Interventions (PLTW) and Anatomy & Physiology, and excels in both of these academically challenging courses. She works to connect techniques and topics learned in the PLTW Biomedical Science program with her fellow HOSA members who are competing in similar topics. She has even coordinated with her teacher to prepare review sessions and go over biomedical lab techniques.
“Lina’s enthusiasm and dedication to excellence make her stand out in any setting,” Teachers Rhonda Christman, Sarah Mahlmann and Lauren Myrick shared. “She was our unanimous choice for student of the week!”
