At the LISD Board meeting Thursday, March 22, 2018, students and staff members were recognized for a variety of accomplishments in athletics, fine arts, and more.
LISD students from Cedar Park, Glenn, Leander and Vista Ridge high schools were recognized for their success in the state YMCA Youth and Government competition.
Band and choir students from all six high schools were recognized for being selected as Texas All-State musicians, the highest individual honor a high school musician can attain.
Cedar Park High School students Vladimir Ivanov, Dominic Toledo Sanchez, Jay Lenner and Sean Cookson were recognized for their success in the 200 and 400 free relays at the state competition, where they took home first and second place, respectively.
Jim Plain Elementary School librarian Carrie Bresnehen was recognized for being selected for the Texas Librarians Association Texas Bluebonnet Books Program Committee, a very prestigious 3-year appointment.
School and Community Relations staff members Kaitlin Paonessa and Daniel Cernero were recognized for receiving 13 awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association State Convention in the areas of video production, graphic design and photography.
