Dear Leander ISD families, teachers and staff,

Thank you for your patience and your resilience over the course of the last few weeks. These are challenging and changing times. We know the concerns around the Coronavirus-19 (COVID) pandemic weighs heavily on your hearts and minds. We may not always agree, but we all feel this together. We are all in this together.

During Spring Break, please remain vigilant in safeguarding your health, that of your family and, in turn, the health of our community. We will continue to communicate with you throughout the next week about any developments regarding event cancelations or school closures. Please make sure you’ve updated your communications preferences.

We are working hand in hand with local and state authorities to make the best possible decisions for our students. Extensive information is available and routinely updated on our web page, including:

  • FAQs;
  • travel restrictions;
  • plans for distance learning and staffing in the event of school closure; and
  • cleaning procedures over the break

My wish for the entire Leander ISD community, students and staff is that we all stay well. Washing your hands, getting a proper amount of sleep, eating a balanced and healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, wiping down touchpoints and being mindful in public spaces are all things we can do to achieve that.

We know these are uncertain times for everyone. Please be assured that Leander ISD is responding in the best interest of our students and community in every decision. We will be vigilant while working hard over Spring Break so that we are prepared for our students’ return.

My very best wishes to each of you for a safe and relaxing break.

Sincerely,

Bruce
