Over the past month, A+ Federal Credit Union paid off $3,253.74 in unpaid Child Nutrition Services balances across seven Leander ISD campuses – a demonstration of the credit union’s commitment to fighting food insecurity, and their positive relationship with the district.

“We’re proud of our A+FCU tradition of paying off school lunch balances as part of our A+ Gives community giveback,” A+FCU President and CEO Eric R. Kase said. “With so many in our community experiencing food insecurity, we hope this provides some relief to students and families in Leander ISD, one of our long-standing partner districts.”

A+FCU Branch Managers from the Cedar Park, Leander and Trails at 620 branches visited Reagan Elementary, Stiles Middle School, Plain Elementary, North Elementary, Grandview Hills Elementary, River Place Elementary and Four Points Middle School to present them with checks in the amount of their campus’s unpaid balance.

River Place Principal Amy Sharp highlighted the value of this generous contribution, which extends beyond individual families to the entire campus.

“Partnerships like A+FCU’s are what supports our Titan Community’s understanding and modeling of our campus vision for individuals to become meaningful contributors within our #1LISD community,” Sharp said. “We appreciate their service in both time and funds for our student body and families. It takes a village to empower our community, and we are thankful they are in ours. Every bit helps for sure.”

A+FCU has been a long-standing partner with LISD and Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF). Last year A+FCU invested over $30,000 as a LEEF annual partner, stadium scoreboard sponsor and funding for teacher events and student resources throughout the district. We are grateful to A+FCU and all community partners who invest time and dollars into our students and teachers!
