The Cedar Park MS Band, Wiley MS Band, Rouse HS Band and Vandegrift HS Percussion Ensemble have all been selected as featured performing ensembles at The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference, which will be held Dec. 18-21 in Chicago.
Featured Ensembles go through a rigorous and competitive selection process in order to be selected for the Midwest Clinic. This process includes submitting recordings from the 2023-24 school year, submitting supporting materials that provide evidence of history of program success and providing recommendations from nationally-renowned music educators.
“Selection for performance at The Midwest Clinic is a substantial achievement for any high school or middle school program. Having four groups perform in the same year from our school district is truly outstanding!” Director of Fine Arts and Music and Performing Arts Mike Howard said. “I am proud to have these students represent their school, Leander ISD and the State of Texas at this international event in Chicago.”
Directors are Britni Hummel (CPMS), Taylor Williamson (WMS), Ryan Johnstone (RHS), and Joe Hobbs (VHS). Congratulations to all of the students and staff involved who are a part of these outstanding ensembles.
