A Leander ISD school bus was involved in a collision with an oncoming vehicle this morning around 7:30 a.m. on FM 1431 past Main Street in Jonestown. The bus was enroute to pick up Cedar Park Middle School and Cedar Park High School students. There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.
First responders transported our bus driver to a Round Rock hospital. A CareFlight helicopter responded to transport the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident. Our bus driver is being treated for minor injuries.
Travis County first responders are working the scene and expect to keep the road closed for at least another hour. We sent a message to riders and their families of Bus Route 313 with details. We will send another bus as soon as possible to transport students to CPMS and CPHS.
Public safety officials are conducting an investigation regarding the accident. We will continue to work with their team and provide any information necessary.
