More than 2,000 runners helped make the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation’s 5th Annual MUDstacle its most successful ever.

LEEF’s 5K fun run, held Oct. 14 at Vista Ridge High School, raised more than $60,000 to support programs  in Leander ISD, one of the fastest growing public school districts in Texas.

Monies raised at this year’s event represents a 45 percent increase from last year’s race. But the numbers alone do not tell the MUDstacle story. The race has become an eagerly anticipated family event.

“We have been coming to MUDstacle every year, “ said Bonnie Martin, mother of two LISD students. “Our kids love that we are telling them to play in the mud, crawl in the dirt and jump off large obstacles!”

The mission of the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) is to provide resources to support innovation, enrichment and equity in pursuit of academic excellence within the Leander Independent School District community.
