Third grader Masha Polishcuk is the Leander ISD Super Kid of the Week!
Masha recently moved to the United States from Ukraine. She jumped into school at Cypress Elementary head first, despite the challenge of both the language barrier and learning to navigate an entirely new culture. She can now communicate with peers and teachers and has developed many relationships.
Masha’s teacher, Jenna Grant, said that she doesn’t let a challenge bring her down.
“Masha strives for excellence each day, even in foreign situations,” Grant said. “She constantly puts in maximal effort while also building and maintaining relationships with classmates. She comes in with a smile on her face, everyday, ready to learn!”
In addition to making friends and working hard in the classroom, Masha enjoys running, unicorns and the color blue.
